Silent Auction......to benefit our researchWe know that our work is important. The hours are long, the work demanding, and the money non-existent. But the rewards – while not financial - are beyond quantification.We have very limited space aboard our sailing vessel, and precious few days during the research season to conduct our work. And yet, ANON was formed to raise public awareness. And so to that end, we have decided to set aside a few days each month to share our work – and our rewards – with those few who have “gone beyond” in supporting us. |

Re-Search your soulThe endless beauty of the ocean is oftentimes overwhelming. So, too, are the magnificent donations which you bring to our research.We would like to invite you to participate in a “Silent Auction” – whose proceeds will directly and solely enable our work. We invite you to email us with your bid, and tell us a little about yourself. Tell us when you'd like to come aboard. Feel free to ask any questions you'd like. This is an informal event, as will be our time together aboard the ANON. |
About the s/v ANONThe ANON is our research / sailing vessel. She's a 48-foot C&C Landfall - Bahama Cutter Rig. She was built in 1981, and is in excellent shape.She is sturdy and comfortable. We keep her in perfect repair and well above Coast Guard safety standards. For more pictures of the ANON, click here. |

What you can expect on your expeditionSolitude: every anchorage all to yourself - free of other boats.The forward stateroom and en-suite head - perfect for two. 5 days / 4 nights of the best that mother nature has to offer. Wildlife. Everywhere. Gourmet meals. |

Ok, so when we say 'gourmet meals', you need to realize that we're whale researchers, not chefs. But we will do everything in our power to ensure your comfort. The image at right is an example of what you can expect. Think 5-star camping from the comfort of a 48 foot sailing yacht!
We will also accomodate any dietary considerations you might have, and will do our best to custom-tailor your expedition to your desires. We can't guarantee 20-knot winds and humpbacks breeching all around (although it happens more often than not!) - but we can guarantee that while you're aboard the ANON, your comfort is priority one. |

Get in touch with natureWhen you email us your bid, tell us a little about what you'd like to see and/or do. Realizing, of course, that the ANON is currently sailing the waters of British Columbia, we'll do our best to accomodate you.In addition to sailing amongst the whales, sea otters, sea lions and bald eagles, there are countless other attractions on the BC coast. From First Nations villages to ancient growth forests, from beach combing to angling for wild pacific salmon - the opportunities for getting in touch with nature abound. |
Auction detailsThe winners will be selected on May 1st, 2024. We encourage you to email us your bid as soon as possible, so that we can get all of your questions answered before the Auction's end date.The winners will be expected to provide their own transportation to the ANON - which will probably include a chartered float plane out of Tofino (on Vancouver Island), BC, Canada.. It's easy to fly from Vancouver to Tofino, and the float plane ride out to the ANON (see photo at right) will awaken your senses to the magic of this area. |
